Often, we feel we need to earn a vacation, earn rest, or have too many important responsibilities for a break. When we feel this way, it is even more of a reason to schedule a break. We need to schedule breaks before things get overwhelming. No one on their death bed ever said they wish they worked more. There are studies on this and everyone always said they wished they spent more time with their family, friends, or doing what they loved instead of working. - You long for a break or to visit a specific location.
- You feel restless or anxious and are unsure why.
- You are wanting time for family, caregiving, organizing your life, hobbies, or anything that is not work related.
People talk about work-life balance. While there are ways to have a career that gives you joy, helps you feel balanced and fulfilled, everyone needs a break from work.
